Athena Awards 2008
The fourth annual Indian Wells ATHENA Awards luncheon will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa. Two outstanding women have been selected as this year’s honorees.

The Professional Excellence Award will be presented to Sandra Hartfield, president and chief executive officer of the Electronic Banking Division of Palm Desert National Bank. The Community Service Award will be presented to City of Indian Wells Mayor Mary T. Roche. A long-time community leader, Mayor Roche is the founder of the Women Leaders Forum of the Coachella Valley, and is an active board member for several city and valley-wide organizations. |
The ATHENA Award was first presented in 1982 and is administered by ATHENA International headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The award is presented to individuals who have attained and embody the highest level of professional excellence in their business or profession, have devoted time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and actively assist women in realizing their leadership potential.
The March 24 luncheon and award ceremony begins with a no-host cocktail reception at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 12 noon luncheon ceremony ending at 1:30 p.m. ATHENA Awards Program founder Martha Mertz will serve as the keynote speaker.
