Rob Bernheimer, Council Member - Elected 2000, Current Term of Office 2008

council_bernheimer2Rob Bernheimer has been a member of the Indian Wells City Council since July 2000 and has twice served the City as its Mayor in both 2003 and 2007. Prior to becoming a council member, he served the City on the Architecture & Landscape Committee as well as the Planning Commission.

A local attorney, Bernheimer graduated with great distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He worked as a lobbyist in Sacramento representing a broad base of clients. In 1994, he was admitted to the State Bar of California and moved to the desert. He now has his own law office in Indian Wells where he handles land use planning, government relations, real estate and business law matters.

Active in a number of charitable and civic organizations, he is Chair of the Palm Springs Desert Resort Communities Convention and Visitors Authority and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of: Desert Cancer Foundation, McCallum Theatre, Desert Forum, Inc. (Indian Wells Town Hall Lecture Series), Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert, Cove Communities Services Commission, and Coachella Valley Economic Partnership. Bernheimer and his wife Rosalind have one daughter. The family lives in Indian Wells.
