The City of Indian Wells Fire Department, part of the Riverside County Fire Services, will be gaining a new firefighter paramedic on Engine #55. The council voted the enhanced position into effect during the Oct. 3, 2019 city council meeting.
The engine is currently staffed with a fire captain and two firefighters, while the current rescue paramedic unit is staffed by two firefighter paramedic units. The movement will promote the position of one firefighter to a firefighter paramedic.
“The council feels that this motion aligns with our goal of providing the City of Indian Wells with high quality medical care,” Mayor Pro Tem, Ty Peabody, said. “We are in full support of enhancing our emergency response program and making our residents feel safe and secure in the City that they call home.”
