Bryan Whitley Named Newest Special Enforcement Team Member in Indian Wells

Bryan Whitley brings 12 years of law enforcement experience to his role as the new deputy assigned to the Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team. Since graduating from the Basic Peace Officers’ Academy, Deputy Whitley has served citizens in communities throughout Riverside County.

His career began as a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station. In this role, he worked Patrol Operations and served the contract cities of the Palm Desert Station, including Indian Wells. Bryan was highly motivated and quickly became recognized for his positive attitude and willingness to help others. He then became a Field Training Officer (FTO) where he mentored newer deputy sheriffs and molded the future leaders of the organization.

In addition to being a leader amongst his peers during his time on Patrol Operations, Bryan was selected to be a member of the Traffic Bureau, which focused its efforts on reducing traffic collisions while improving the quality of life for residents served by the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station.

Following handling several high-profile and significant traffic collisions spanning several years, Bryan chose to place himself back into Patrol Operations to once again mentor deputies and provide service to Indian Wells residents.  Administration recognized his efforts, and in October of 2019 he was selected as the newest member of the Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team.

Bryan brings a wealth of law enforcement experience to the team to include being a traffic collision reconstructionist and a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), to name a few.  In his current role, he will be conducting complex criminal investigations, addressing quality of life concerns for the residents of Indian Wells, and working closely with the City to provide the highest level of service to its residents.

“I’m grateful to have been selected to serve in this role in the beautiful City of Indian Wells,” Bryan said. “I’m fortunate to be part of such a dedicated team and look forward to combating criminal activity in Indian Wells and serving the residents in this new capacity.”
