Overview:
Safer Streets Indian Wells is dedicated to improving the safety, accessibility, and quality of life for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists in Indian Wells. Focusing on four key streets—Eldorado Drive, Fairway Drive, Rancho Palmeras Drive, and Cook Street—this project aims to reduce speed, enhance mobility, and create a safer environment for all users. The success of these efforts will rely on community outreach and active resident participation to ensure the improvements reflect the needs and preferences of Indian Wells citizens.
Renderings for Eldorado Drive and Fairway Drive were created to provide a visual starting point for proposing improvements and were shared at the first Community Meeting with the Planning Commission and are linked below. The second Community Meeting, will be moderated again by the City of Indian Wells Planning Commission, on Wednesday, November 20 at 1:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers. Additionally, the Strategy Toolbox – linked below, features 24 traffic-calming mechanisms. This toolbox identifies various strategies that address specific issues like speeding.
