Introduction 

The City of Indian Wells developed a Comprehensive Traffic Safety Action Plan (Action Plan) to enhance roadway safety for members of the local community by decreasing fatalities, injuries, and crashes throughout the project area.

Project Overview

The Action Plan proposes potential projects in the Indian Wells area to improve safety for drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists, pedestrians, and other members of the traveling public. These projects were proposed once the project team analyzed a combination of crash history, roadway characteristics, and stakeholder feedback to identify the most likely safety benefit for the City given its unique characteristics and specific needs.

What is a Comprehensive Traffic Safety Action Plan?

A Comprehensive Traffic Safety Action Plan is a document that proposes safety improvement projects with the goal of decreasing roadway crash fatalities and injuries in a specific community. The Indian Wells Action Plan developed roadway safety improvement measures to address the corridor’s crash history with a variety of proven safety enhancement methods.
