Campaign Disclosure Statements

The City Clerk’s Office is the official filing officer for campaign disclosure statements related to elections for the City of Indian Wells and local City ballot and initiative measures. Additional information regarding Campaign Finance Reporting is available on the website of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) at http://www.fppc.ca.gov. There are many different forms that elected officials and candidate may be required to submit depending on their campaign finance participation including:

Candidate Intention (Form 501)
Committee Information for campaigns receiving over $2,000 (Form 410)
Committee Information for campaigns receiving less than $2,000 (Form 470)
Semi-Annual, and Pre-Election Campaign Statements (Form 460)
Independent Expenditure Report (Form 496)
Contribution Report (Form 497)

Beginning January 1, 2021, AB 2151 requires local government agencies to post campaign statements and reports on their agency's website, within 72 hours of each applicable filing deadline, if they are filed in paper format. If the final day of the 72-hour period is a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, the period is extended to the next day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.

A statement, report, or other document posted pursuant to AB 2151 shall be made available for four years from the date of the election associated with the filing.

Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700)

The Political Reform Act (Gov. Code sections 81000 - 91014) requires most state and local government officials and employees to publicly disclose their personal assets and income. They also must disqualify themselves from participating in decisions which may affect their personal economic interests.

Statements of Economic Interests are public documents. Any member of the public may inspect and copy any statement. Forms must be available as soon as possible during the agency's regular business hours, but in any event not later than the second business day after the statement is received.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

As the Filing Officer, our office administers the Conflict of Interest Code at the local level and notifies each designated employee, board and committee member of their filing obligation. Officials designated in the Conflict of Interest Code are required to file an Assuming Office Statement when they assume a designated position, an Annual Statement each year, and a Leaving Office Statement within 30 days.
